ORIENTAL MASSAGES
Tui Na Massage
Tui Na massage has been used in China for more than 2,000 years.
Tui Na massage therapy has been considered the external form of massage and is used for giving special treatments to people of all ages, from infancy to old age.
This Chinese therapy makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along different energy channels of the body to establish harmonious flow of Qi throughout the body and bringing it back to balance.
It works deeply with the positive energy of the body.
Many of the techniques used in this massage resemble that of a western massage like gliding, kneading, vibration, tapping, friction, pulling, rolling, pressing and shaking.
In Tui Na massage, the muscles and tendons are massaged with the help of hands, and an acupressure technique is applied to directly affect the flow of Qi at different acupressure points of the body, thus facilitating the healing process. It removes the blockages and keeps the energy moving through the meridians as well as the muscles.
The best part of the therapy is that it relaxes as well as energizes the person.
The main benefit of Tui Na massage is that it focuses on the specific problem, whether it is an acute or a chronic pain associated with the joints, muscles or a skeletal system.
This technique is very beneficial in reducing the pain of neck, shoulders, hips, back, arms, highs, legs and ankle disorders. It is a very effective therapy for arthritis, pain, sciatica and muscle spasms.
Other benefits of this massage therapy include alleviation of the stress related disorders like insomnia, constipation, headaches and other disorders related to digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems.
The greatest advantage of Tui Na is that it focuses on maintaining overall balance with both physical and mental health.

Ayurvedic Indian Massage
An ayurvedic massage helps eliminate toxins through purification, strengthens the muscle tone, relaxes and rejuvenates the body.
Also known as hard body massage, Ayurvedic massages are given using hands, feet, elbows, forearms and well-oiled balls. Ayurvedic massage involving tapping, kneading, squeezing and traditional massage strokes is done by using essential oils to suit individual doshas.
The style and intensity of massage depends on the individual's need for balance and well being at the time. An Ayurvedic therapist focuses on the "marma points", which are similar to the pressure points in reflexology, acupuncture and acupressure.

Shiatsu Japonese Massage
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork. The word shiatsu means "finger pressure", and shiatsu is sometimes described as a finger pressure massage.
Like acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy, or qi, through the body.
Shiatsu therapists use finger and palm pressure to energetic pathways, called meridians to improve the flow of qi.
A scientific explanation is that shiatsu calms an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which improves circulation, relieves stiff muscles, and alleviates stress.
The shiatsu therapist applies pressure using his or her fingers, thumbs, and/or palms in a continuous rhythmic sequence.
The pressure feels more localized, because unlike other types of massage, the finger pads are used to apply pressure for most of the treatment instead of the entire palm.
Certain pressure points may feel tender, which some people describe it as "good pain." If you feel any discomfort or pain during the treatment, tell your therapist and he or she will adjust the pressure so that it is comfortable to you.
Most people say shiatsu is as relaxing as a classic forms of massage therapy.
The treatment is done on the floor. Unlike other forms of massage, with shiatsu no massage oil is applied, so you remain fully clothed during the treatment.
Proponents of shiatsu claim that it may help with a number of conditions :
Relaxation, Back pain, Headache, Premenstrual syndrome, Anxiety, Insomnia, Neck and shoulder pain, Tiredness, Recovery from injuries, Stress, Arthritis pain, Poor digestion, Constipation, Depression.

Reflexology
Reflexology is the application of appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet. These areas and reflex points correspond to different body organs and systems, and that pressing them has a beneficial effect on the organs and person's general health.
Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure health disorders, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma, cancer treatment, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, headaches, kidney function, PMS, and sinusitis.
Reflexology is growing increasingly popular across Europe and Asia as both a complement to other treatments and as a preventive measure.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGES
Therapeutic Massage
The terapeutic massage is a technique that is directed toward eliminating or diminishing muscular pain that is related to tension, blocked energy, or lack of toning…Furthermore, its use is an efficient complement to other types of therapies. There are different methods: sports, relaxation, stimulating, and therapeutic massages.
The technique is based on friction, pressure, percussion and stretching, depending on the problem being treated and the method used.
These techniques are accompanied by the utilization of oils to improve the manipulation and application of a quiromassage. There are many benefits:
The massage activates circulation speed, as it acts on the veins and produces a squeezing or emptying action in the vein walls, allows for the development of force and movement in the muscles.
It also produces significant growth in venous and lymphatic interior circulation, and it facilitates and adds to muscular metabolism. It raises the temperature of the skin from 2 to 3ºC.
This raise in temperature provokes benefits in people affected by circulatory, neurovegetative illnesses. In cases of anemia, quiromassage is suggested (especially at the abdominal level) because it stimulates the function of the hemoglobin in the blood.

Sport Massage
Massage, applied skillfully, is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system.
Received regularly this may help athletes prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse.
A constant build up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.
These muscle imbalances may develop and often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause the athlete discomfort or impede performance.
The skilled massage therapist will be able to detect variations in the soft tissues and by using the correct techniques, help the sports person maintain a much healthier physical state.
It may therefore be reasonably claimed that one of the greatest benefits of sports massage is in helping prevent injury.

Manual Lymph Drainage Massage
Manual lymph drainage massage (also called lymphatic drainage and lymph massage) is a form of very light massage that encourages lymph flow in the body.
It is particularly good for detoxification, edema, pre- and post-plastic surgery and post-liposuction. It can also help with cellulite treatments, scar tissue, spider veins, redness and acne.
The lymph system is a slow-moving system of vessels and lymph nodes that is supplementary to the body's system of blood circulation.
The lymph systen both delivers nutrients to the cells and carries away excess water, cellular waste, bacteria, viruses and toxins. The therapist stimulates the lymph system with extremely light, circular pumping movements.
By stimulating the lymphatic system, the therapist helps drain puffy, swollen tissues, supports the body's immune system, helps the body heal from surgery, and aids in the body's natural waste removal or detoxification.
The lymphatic system is located directly beneath the skin, so the pumping, circular movements are very light. Manual lymph drainage should have a very soothing, relaxing effect.
It can be used as part of a facial, or as a whole body treatment.
Drink plenty of water after a lymph drainage massage to help flush out toxins.
Stay away from salt and alcohol after a massage, as they inhibit the body's ability to flush out toxins.

CHINESE MEDICINE
Chinese medicine is a complete system of medicine with its own forms of diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and therapies.
Chinese medicine views the body as an energetic system in dynamic balance. Qi, which can be translated as energy or life force, flows in a regular pattern through a system of channels — or meridians — to all parts of the body.
When the flow of Qi is unimpeded there is harmony, balance, and good health. When there are Qiblockages, too much or too little qi, there is an imbalance which can lead to disharmony and disease.
Chinese medicine helps restore the body to balance and works on an energetic level to affect all aspects of a person: mind/body/spirit.
The beauty of Chinese medicine is that it can be used to correct imbalances that have become illness and pain, or even correct imbalances prior to the appearance of symptoms, preventing disease. Chinese medicine treatments address imbalances using food therapy/diet, acupuncture, herbal remedies, Chinese massage along with Western therapies.
Chinese medicine is the longest existing continuous medical system practiced in the world, with over 3000 years of history.

OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy, or osteopathic medicine, is based on the belief that most diseases are related to problems in the musculoskeletal system and that structure and function of the body are related.
The musculoskeletal system is made of the nerves, muscles, and bones -- all of which are interconnected and form the body's structure. Osteopathy was founded in 1874 by Andrew Taylor Still, he believed that every disease or illness began with structural problems in the spine. Long nerves connect the spine to various organs in the body.
According to Still, when there is a problem with the spine, the nerves send abnormal signals to the body's organs. Still called these spinal problems "osteopathic lesions" ("osteo" for bone and "pathic" for diseased), and created osteopathic manipulation techniques (OMTs) to treat them.
These treatments, he believed, would return the nerves to their normal function and allow the blood to flow freely throughout the circulatory system. With structure restored, the body's own natural healing powers would be able to restore full health.
Osteopathy also pioneered the techniques that have become known as craniosacral therapy, which is now practiced in different disciplines. Craniosacral therapy is the gentle manipulation of the bones of the skull to restore balance to the whole body.
Osteopathy may be helpful for: Low back pain, Ankle injuries, Asthma,
Fibromyalgia, Tennis elbow, Neck pain, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Recovery after surgery, Menstrual pain, Depression
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

REIKI : JAPONESE THERAPY
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.
It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
